Membership
The doctoral student's individual monitoring committee includes at least one member who is a specialist in the discipline or related to the thesis field, and, if possible, a member from outside the institution. It also includes a non-specialist member from outside the thesis research field. Members of this committee are not involved in supervising the doctoral student's work. Finally, the doctoral school ensures that the doctoral student is consulted on the composition of the CSI before it meets. For this purpose, within ED406, the director proposes to the doctoral student and thesis director a non-specialist member from outside the thesis research field, qualified to direct research or equivalent. For practical reasons, this member must be from within the doctoral school and the same institution, and may act as chair of the monitoring committee. The second member is chosen by mutual agreement between the doctoral student and the thesis director. This member must be a specialist in the discipline or related to the field of the thesis, qualified to direct research or equivalent. This member must have sufficient expertise in the doctoral student's field of research to ensure, in particular, that he/she is able to situate his/her work in the international scientific context, present the research approach, the originality of his/her work, etc. The doctoral student's choices are validated or modified by the supervisor. These choices are validated or modified by the doc duo.
